"Frank Jacobs"
Frank is a Millwright / Welder by trade and a Metallurgist by training.
A true craftsman and a madding perfectionist.

He can make a fixed-blade knife as good as anyone. ‘True Story” While working a large Knife Show I had a few of Frank’s knives on my table alongside some knives by a very well known maker. A long-time customer took exception to the price disparity and removed the names and price tags from both displays. He then challenged a number of his fellow seasoned collectors to match the price and maker to the knives. When the truth was unveiled; I sold four of Franks knives.

Following are a few of Frank’s knives. All with his wood and Mosaic Pins.

Frank’s true passion is selecting and processing wood for knife handle material. As well as making Mosaic Pins. He also grinds and re-profiles Blade Blanks. If you make knives or want to get started, I encourage you to checkout his website. The quality is second to none and his prices are extremely reasonable.

Being located in the Pacific Northwest, Frank specializes primarily in West Coast Woods ie, Maple, Buckeye, Madrone and Redwood Because of Maples abundance, toughness, raw natural beauty and the fact that each piece responds so uniquely to colorization, it is the primary wood Frank chooses to dye. Normally available in Red, Green, Blue, Violet, Plum and Orange. Following are a few examples of his wood. Click on the picture for a larger more dramatic view.
